The Collected Funky Folsom Farmhouse Project
FOLSOM, California
Project Scope: Interior Renovation + Furnishings
We’ve had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple on multiple projects. With an immediate alignment in design style, we brought their love of farmhouse living to life while layering in a few unexpected elements to keep the spaces feeling distinctive and personal.
The primary bedroom is a favorite—and a little bit of magic. We collaborated with local artisans to create pieces that truly reflect our clients’ personality. A custom closet wall maximizes storage while echoing the existing arch above the bed, tying old and new together in the best way.
The stained glass moment? A total game changer—transforming a very ‘80s window into something entirely its own (and yes, now everyone wants one). The custom elm wood bed, made locally, anchors the space, layered with a vintage kilim and soft wall-to-wall wool underfoot.
To top it off, we added a beam to celebrate the vaulted ceilings, while a whisper of pale pink quietly pulls everything into harmony.
Reworking the layout of the primary bath transformed the experience for our clients—pairing improved function with finishes that are easy to maintain. We incorporated a beautiful freestanding tub and a generous shower, while maximizing storage and overall efficiency.
A dedicated blow-dryer drawer—very much inspired by a boutique hotel experience—keeps cords tucked away and countertops clear. Rustic farmhouse finishes, layered with real plants, bring in a relaxed, bohemian feel.
The guest bath gave us the opportunity to introduce playful pops of color and a more curated feel, while still honoring the home’s modern farmhouse aesthetic. Ample storage is seamlessly integrated, and a mix of distinctive lighting and expressive tile patterns bring personality to the space—making it feel uniquely theirs, despite its smaller footprint.
