This meticulously crafted tea house sits atop a hill on a private 20-acre property in the Sierra Foothills, built entirely from lumber sourced on-site. With sweeping views for miles—and unforgettable sunsets—it offers a truly special setting.

Designed as a private retreat for our clients and their guests. The goal was to create a place to visit comfortably, while still enjoying the full experience of seclusion in their own standalone escape.

The home features an open-concept entry with a spot to remove shoes, a cozy living area with a rustic fireplace that doubles as a secondary sleeping space, and a kitchenette with dining area. A stunning manzanita wood staircase is adorned with three antique kilim rugs as custom runners, leading to a loft with a plush queen bed and a private patio.

Surrounded by rolling hills and expansive views in every room, the home features natural wood interiors, handcrafted architectural details, and a warm, layered palette inspired by the surrounding landscape. Our goal for this project was to enhance the cabin’s natural character while creating comfortable, inviting spaces that feel refined yet relaxed. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the view!

Through careful furniture placement, natural textiles in cafe curtains, and vintage-inspired quality accents, the design highlights the beauty of the home’s original woodwork while adding softness, texture, and functionality throughout the space.
