Molly Carter

Molly Erin Carter, President of Molly Erin Designs Inc, is a northern California based interior designer who creates distinct interiors merging modern & traditional design elements. Her 17 years of extensive experience while living in California's most energetic & inspiring cities- Los Angeles and San Francisco, have defined her concept of high design and expressed her ultrachic aesthetic. Since opening her design firm, Molly Erin Designs, in 2010, Molly has collaborated with clients to deliver interior spaces for both living and working that are edgy yet attainable. Her meticulous attention to detail and demand for excellence sets Molly apart. Working by referral, Molly is devoted to developing long-lasting relationships with clients, craftsman and artists involved.

During her career at UCLA Design and Project Management Molly was involved in all phases of the projects from conception through construction. These extensive projects included design, remodel and new construction, to a large portion of the campus including classroom auditoriums, medical lobbies, medical office suites, patient rooms, MRI rooms, mixing and broadcasting studios, cafe and commissaries, a moot courtroom at the School of law, and multiple office suites.

Her impressive residential projects range from a 2,800 square foot home in El Dorado Hills to a 35,000 square foot mansion in Beverly Hills. Several of her projects were ground up construction. These projects showcased Molly's talents of being able manage projects of all sizes, on budget, from the ground up. It also highlighted her ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly, and her “hands on” always present driving work ethic.

Molly earned her LEED accreditation from the US Green Building Council in 2009. It is her passion and commitment to provide sustainable design with creative chic resources. She is an NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) Certified Interior Designer #28323. Which vigorous testing identifies interior designers who have the knowledge and experience to create interior spaces that are not just aesthetically pleasing, but functional and safe.

Molly's impressive educational pursuits had her graduating from San Francisco State University with a 4.0 GPA in Interior Design, as well as an Associate of Arts degree in Interior Design from Santa Barbara City College.

Molly current resides in Placerville, CA. She has traveled extensively, for both work and pleasure, and enjoys cooking and entertaining friends (along with her Boston Terriers “Hudson & Revere” and husband Ben). She enjoys shopping for Antiques and loves to re-purpose buried treasures. Molly stays ahead of the curve for new styles and trends, always looking to fashion for inspiration in what is new in interiors.
